Jose Maria Bakero: "Spain has got great forwards"

Jose Maria Bakero, former captain of FC Barcelona (SPAIN), was in the stands of the Stadium in TOULOUSE in his capacity as consultant for the Spanish television station TVE, who were transmitting the Group B match between CAMEROON and AUSTRIA, which ended in a 1-1 draw. He gave us his impressions of the Spanish team (Group D), coached by Javier CLEMENTE: "This time I think the Spanish team are better prepared than for any previous World Cup. The difference is that there are a lot of great players among the forwards. The team only lost once, and that was to FRANCE (Group C), 1-0 at the Stade de France on 28^th January 1998. This proves that they're a very competitive unit and if they keep themselves in good physical condition, they could have a major role to play.
