March 1998 - N°33 REPORT
To get the logistics right for an event the size of FRANCE 98 represents a major challenge for the French Organising Committee. The success of the 1998 World Cup will be largely dependent upon the CFO's ability to take proper care of the delegations and spectators. It will also be an opportunity for France as a whole to display its considerable logistical know-how. Sir Peter Ustinov Official Village,

IN THE WINGS
The success of FRANCE 98 will hinge on how well we look after our guests: footballers, the media, officials, VIPs and spectators alike; each of them must go home with the feeling that they received first class attention. Getting this vital matter right will rest on work we do away from the limelight, "in the wings". The French Organising Committee, the Volunteer team and the partners involved in this great event all know that the road to success is paved with smiles, total readiness to help and professionalism. Looking after our visitors is also something that all the people of this country should play a part in. The World Cup is a unique occasion to show how well we can entertain the worldin every sense. So welcome to France!
