In recognition of Batistuta's achievement, $ 25 000 donation to SOS Children's Villages in Argentina 22.06.98 12h34 CET BATISTUTA (9) of ARGENTINA takes his place in the World Cup history by scoring the first hat trick of FRANCE 98, and in recognition of this achievement, McDONALDs will donate $ 25,000 to the SOS Childrens Villages organisation in ARGENTINA.
As part of its first-ever McGoal! Goal! Goal! World Cup Programme McDONALDs will celebrate any World Cup footballer who scores three goals in a single FRANCE 98 match by making a donation -- up to US $1 million -- in the players name to the SOS Childrens Villages facility in the players home country.
To date, McDONALDs has donated a total of $ 75,000 to SOS Childrens Villages: $ 50,000 for FRANCE before the opening of the World Cup, and today $ 25,000 for ARGENTINA.
