Keeper injury a blow to Italys World Cup hopes
ROME, May 31 (AFP)
Italys World Cup hopes recieved a severe blow on Sunday when goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi injured himself in training and will miss the finals.

The Juventus goalkeeper pulled a muscle and collapsed to the ground. "That is the end of my World Cup. Now I have to think four years ahead,"  said Peruzzi, who would have been Italys first choice keeper. "He will be out for at least four weeks," said the team doctor. Fiorentina keeper Francesco Toldo will be called up to replace Peruzzi according to a team official.

Gianluca Pagliuca of Inter Milan now takes over as Italys first choice goalkeeper.
