Boksic struggling to be fit for World Cup

Italian-based striker Alen Boksic is struggling to be fit to play for Croatias squad for next months World Cup finals in France. Boksic, who has a knee injury, is facing minor surgery that could rule him out of Croatias first two Group H matches, team doctor Boris Nemec said Monday. The injury is a longstanding one that Boksic first suffered playing for Italian club Lazio, Nemec said at the Croatian teams training camp at Porec in north-east Croatia. The Croatians face Argentina, Japan and Jamaica in the first round of the World Cup, which starts on June 10.
