Nigerian goalkeeper ordered to leave World Cup camp LAGOS, May 20 (AFP) A Nigerian goalkeeper has been ordered to leave the Super Eagles World Cup training camp in Switzerland after letting in four goals during a friendly. Crew keeper Ademola Bankole let in the goals in the first half of a warm-up match against Swiss champions, Grasshopper, on Tuesday. Ademola, who played for local teams like Shooting Stars of Ibadan, before moving to England, was invited last week by national coach Bora Milutinovic as replacement for injured Super Eagles first-choice goalkeeper Ike Shorunmu.
Nigerian Football Association chairman Abdulmumini Aminu described the Super Eagles loss to the Swiss division one clubside as unbelievable. "I could not believe we were beaten 4-0 by a clubside who play in a lowly-rated league in Europe. My only consolation was that it was not the actual (World Cup) team that played the match" , he stated. Super Eagles line-up for the match: Ademola Bankole, Mobi Oparaku, Kingsley Obiekwu, Ajibade Babalade, Godwin Okpara, Steve Musa, Garba Lawal, Karibe Ojigwe, Wilson Oruma, Rashidi Yekini and Victor Ikpeba.
