PRIMAGAZ, Official Equipment Suppliers to FRANCE 98

Primagaz became "Official Equipment Suppliers" to FRANCE 98 on 13 May 1997 when Fernand Sastre> and Michel Platini, Presidents of the French Organising Committee for the World Cup, signed an agreement with Jean-Charles Inglessi, the petroleum gas company's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and Jean-Marc Schaub, the Managing Director of Primagaz France.

The Primagaz Group, European leader in liquefied petrol gas (L.P.G.) sells more than 3 million tonnes of butane and propane per year to 15 European countries, in bottles, by tanker and as L.P.G. motor fuel. This valuable energy source also plays a large part in household use, providing fuel for heating, hot water and kitchen stoves.

Butane and propane offer a great many advantages. As well as being environmentally-friendly motor fuels, they are seen as the last word in efficiency in industry, farming and animal breeding, and by craftsmen and women. During the winter, water at the Stade de France worksite concrete plant was heated with Primagaz products.

The Primagaz Group has already made a name for itself in the automobile industry by marketing its liquefied petrol gas VIFF, through its ever-expanding national L.P.G. station network.

Primagaz had already declared its willing participation in the sporting arena, when it recently backed Laurent Bourgnon, whose trimaran won the Route du Rhum race. It came as no surprise, then, when today Primagaz and the French Organising Committee joined forces for the 16th football World Cup

Following in the footsteps of the hotel group Accor, the R.A.T.P., the Frisquet company, the Arjo-Wiggins Group, the Lafarge Group, Guilbert and the S.N.C.F., Primagaz is the eighth "Official Equipment Supplier" to team up with FRANCE 98
