82% of French people are in favour of the World Cup in France

According to a survey undertaken by SOFRES Sponsoring (an opinion poll institute), on an assortment of the French population, 82% of people believe it is a "good thing" for France to host the World Cup against 7% who disapprove. 11% of those people polled did not have an opinion. Such solid backing, according to SOFRES, means that the role of the French Organising Committee is judged to be highly important.
