Made his name with Deportivo when they were runners-up in the Spainish championship in 94. Won a Spanish Cup winners medal in 95 with Deportivo
Played for Deportivo in the semi-finals of the 96 European Cup Winners' Cup where they were beaten by Paris St Germain.
Scored his first international goal on October 29, 97 when Yugoslavia crushed Hungary 7-1 in their World Cup qualifier play-off match.
