 Began his career at Osijek with Suker from 89-91, like Suker, transferred from Osijek to Dynamo Zagreb, but in 91, in 94 he left Croatia to play for Padova and left Italy to join Spanish side Valencia in 96
With Croatia (formerly Dynamo), he was leading scorer for two successive seasons in the Croatian championship (23 and 20 goals) in 92 and 93
He quickly became popular because of his goal scoring ability, but doctors detected health problems.
He underwent a brain operation. It was thought that it was the end of his career but the operation was successful and he came back as good as ever
Married to the sister of Branka Bebic, the 94 Miss Croatia and Miss Europe, has two sons
